Kakinada: Finance and legislative affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu revealed that several new initiatives would be implemented for the development of the state in the new year 2019.
Speaking to media at his camp office at Timmapauram in Kakinada rural on Monday, Ramakrishnudu said that the state government had prepared a new development vision document for the new year, which reflects the government’s commitment for the welfare of the people.
He said that priority has been given for public welfare and development in the state. In the last four-and-half-a-years despite crises one after another as a result of Centre’s antagonistic attitude towards the state and the efforts of the opposition in stalling of funds to the state, all the promises made to the people were almost fulfilled he said.
The minster added that government was ready for a discussion on any of the issues on development of the state. Yanamala said that the last instalment of Rs 8,000 crore towards loan waiver for farmers would be relaxed soon. With this, a total of Rs 24,000 crore loan waiver to farmers would be completed, he added.
Ramakrishnudu said that farmers’ loan waiver was first-of-its-kind in the country and many states have been following in the state’s footsteps in this regards. The minister also revealed that the last instalment of Rs 1,000 crore for self-help group members would also be released soon.
With regard to financial position of the state, the minister observed that there are financial constraints in the state, though the tax revenue has been good but the revenue expenditure was on the rise.
Lowering of interest rates on new borrowings and streamlining the payments through CFMS were some of the measures taken to regulate the expenditure, the finance minister added. He also said that in spite of financial problems, the TDP government was committed to the welfare of the people and would give top priority to welfare schemes.
