Vijayawada: Water Resource Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on Thursday inaugurated the 64th School Games Federation under-17 National Sepak Takraw Championship at SKPVV Hindu School here.
Organising secretary S Ramesh said that eight teams-- Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat and CBSE-- both boys and girls, will participate in the league-cum-knockout basis and said that three courts were made ready for the event.
He further said earlier the association had organised South Zone championship at the same venue successfully. Cultural events, march past and a few mind-boggling feats were feast for eyes to the spectators.
SAAP Managing Director M V Seshadri Babu, Sepak Takraw of India secretary Prem Raj, SAAP Officer on Special Duty P Ramakrishna, School Games Federation secretary Sk Mahaboob Basha and others were present at the inauguration.
