Visakhapatnam: The Divis Laboratories Limited (DLL) has selected for Best Partner Award for its contribution for Smart Village–Smart Ward programme, the brainchild of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. At a programme held in Amaravati on Monday, Chandrababu Naidu handed over memento and certificate to Madhusudana Rao Divi, Director of DLL.
The DLL is implementing number of developmental and welfare programes in its manufacturing industry based at Chippada panchayat of Bheemunipatnam mandal.
The programmes include drinking water through Sujalam RO plants, smokeless panchayats by providing gas stoves to women, digital classrooms for improving teaching standards in government schools, Rs 3,000 financial support towards construction of individual toilets, offering different skill development courses through Skill Development Centre, Rs 7.25 crore to RWS Department for drinking water in Chippada panchayat.
Naidu has appreciated the efforts of Divis in developing the nearby communities and asked for innovative programmes which will benefit the downtrodden. Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT N Lokesh, Minister for Labour P Satyanarayana and Smart AP Foundation CEO Dr B Gangaiah were also present.
