Rajamahendravaram: The bandh called by Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi, demanding a Special Category Status for the state evoked mixed response and it had little impact on the normal life.
The APSRTC operated its services as usual and business establishments remained open.
Some private schools and banks were closed and morning shows were cancelled.
Meanwhile, TDP, Congress and Left parties participated in the bandh separately by conducting protest rallies and dharnas in the city.
They blamed the NDA government at the Centre for the miseries of the State and raised slogans against the BJP.
GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna and other TDP leaders V Rambabu, VS Rao, R Mani, Congress city president NV Srinivas, DV Rao, CPI leaders MS Narayana, Rama Rao, CPM leaders T Arun and many others participated in the bandh programmes.
