New Delhi/Amaravati: Intensifying the attack against TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday complained to the Chief Election Commissioner that the Naidu government is subverting the electioneering process in the state. Jagan, who is in the national capital, has alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government is manipulating the electoral rolls, misusing government machinery and using police officers to intimidate the opposition parties.

“The ruling dispensation is doing all unethical and unfair things in the state. We request CEC Sunil Arora to intervene in the matter and ensure that free and fair polls will be held in Andhra Pradesh”, Jagan told the press after meeting the CEC. He urged the Election Commission to delete the names of nearly 60 lakh "defective voters" from the rolls in the state.

He said his party had identified 52.67 lakh defective and duplicate voters in September 2018 and brought the matter to the attention of the CEC several times. He claimed that the number of defective voters increased by 59.18 lakh at the behest of the TDP government. Out of 3.69 crore voters, nearly 60 lakh are "invalid or defective." It reflects very badly on the election process, Jagan said.
