Kakinada: PV Chalapathi Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Endowments Department assumed charge as executive officer of Malladi Satyalingam Naicker institutions on Friday.
The institutions hold significance as the funds for the institutions were contributed by late Malladi Satyalingam Naicker, the businessman in the year 1906.
Known as non-literate educationist Malladi donated Rs 16 lakh for starting the educational institutions.
Starting it with a primary school along the Veda Pathashala [Vedic school] the institutions were upgraded into high school, junior college and degree colleges.
He arranged for the free feeding of the poor students numbering more than 500 per day.
Later, the post-graduate centre known as Malladi Satyalingam Naicker PG Centre came up on a spacious site at Atchampeta in Kakinada suburbs. The same which was with Andhra University had been affiliated to AKNU.
In addition to this, the institutions have property in the form of agriculture land to get income to run the institutions. Speaking on this occasion, the new incumbent said that he will strive for the development of the institutions in all aspects.
Chairman of the MSN institutions Malladi Sivarama Naicker and staff congratulated the new AC on assuming office.
