Tirupati: A hoax call by a youngster saying that bombs were stashed at Tirupati, Puttur and Chittoor railway stations put the railway authorities and police officials on toes on Tuesday morning. A youngster Lokesh of Puttur mandal dialled ‘100’ number and informed the police about the bombs that were placed in the three stations.

Identifying the number from where the call has originated, police took the accused into custody and enquiring. Meanwhile, rigorous inspections were made at the three stations by police personnel, RPF and bomb squad and found that it was a fake call. RPF CI Saidaiah and other officials took part in the inspections.
