CM Chandrababu Naidu lays foundation stone for Bhogapuram airport

Vizianagaram: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has laid the foundation stone for the greenfield airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district on Thursday.
Along with the Airport, CM Naidu also inaugurates Patanjali Food and Herbal park, Chandana food unit, Arogya milleṭ unit, Vizianagaram Medical college, Degree college, Gurajada varsity in the district.
The State Ministers, MLAs, party leaders and other officials were present at the inauguration programme.
Speaking on this occasion Naidu said that Andhra Pradesh is the only state with more number of airports. He said along with Vijayawada, Vizag, Tirupati recently the government has also started Orvakal airport at Kurnool district and today Bhogapuram airport has joined in the list of airports in the state.
In the coming days Rajahmundry and Kadapa airports will be developed and in order to benefit the North Andhra region, Vizianagaram and Bhogapuram airports will be merged in the future, Naidu said.
He said that on the name of Gurajada a university will be set up in the district, for which 129 acres land has been allotted.
Naidu has expressed happiness over getting a medical college to Vizianagaram. In 172 acres, Patanjali project is going to come up which will be benefited to more than 10,000 farmers in the district.
For Gurajada university the state government has also allocated the land, but the central government is intentionally wasting the time, Naidu said.
The Bhogapuram airport is designed in such a way that even worlds biggest aircraft A380 can easily land here, for that 3.8 km long runway will be made available at the airport.
As Vizag airport lacks the parking space for the aircraft for which the aircraft has to fly back immediately after the landing.
For the maintenance, repairs, and checkups a workshop is needed. Apart from the passenger's convenience, logistics service and Industrial needs will be given top priority with the Bhogapuram airport.
Bhogapuram aero city, five-star hotels, aircraft parking and with other facilities are going to come up around the Bhogapuram airport area.
