Kurnool: A review meeting held with officials concerned on Monday for making necessary arrangements to the ensuing Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams in Srisailam. District Collector S Satyanarayana, who took part in the meeting, said Brahmotsavams will begin from February 25.

He directed the officials to ensure basic amenities like water, food and shelter for devotees, who would be coming to holy shrine from far off places. The Collector instructed the RWS SE Hari Babu to coordinate with the temple EO for arranging water tankers and taps at the identified spots.

He asked DPO Prabhakar Rao to engage 1,200 sanitary staff for upkeep of sanitation. Arrange temporary toilets and dressing rooms at Pushkarini and Pathala Ganga bathing ghats, the Collector stated and asked officials to initiate measures for restricting devotees from defecating in the open.

The DCH and DMHO were asked to set up medical camps at ten prime spots for a week at Sunnipenta. Temple Executive Officer (EO) Sri Ramachandra Murthy said that as part of Brahmotsavams, the Arjita sevas have been stopped from February 21. Three queue lines have been arranged for devotes to have quick darshan of Srisaila Mallanna.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli said bandobast would be arranged during the festive season. He asked the EO to arrange luggage scanners and some more parking lots. Trainee SP Vidya Sagar Naidu, ZP CEO Vishsweswara Naidu, ITDA PO Srinivasulu, RDO Venkateswarulu, CPO Anand Naik and the staff of all departments participated.
