Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar directed the officials to follow Election Commission norms strictly and see that every voter exercises his or her franchise.
He addressed revenue officials, municipal commissioners and EROs through a video-conference from his office on Tuesday.
Speaking on this occasion, he warned officials of stern action if they fails to implement the EC orders.
He said that for the first time, the Election Commission of India introduced Voter Verification Paper Audit Trail system and instructed the officials to create awareness on the new system. He informed that he appointed a sector officer for every twelve polling booths.
Joint Collector Himanshu Shukla said that they have prepared C Vigil app to take videos of untoward incidents and they would send them to the Election Commission.
Guntur Rural SP SV Rajasekhara Babu, officials of various government departments were present.
