Imposter steals gold chain from patient at Government General Hospital

Kurnool: In the guise of a doctor, an imposter stole three tolas of gold chain from a patient’s neck at Government General Hospital here on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, Lakshmi Devi, a resident of Shareen Nagar was rushed to the hospital for treatment after she consumed sleeping tablets. She was taken to casualty ward for extending treatment. Before the doctors could attend Lakshmi, an imposter posing as doctor has attended her and prescribed some medicines.
When Lakshmi’s husband Raghavendra left the ward to bring medicine, the imposter stole gold chain from her neck and slipped away silently. On noticing the gold chain was missing from his wife’s neck, Raghavendra immediately brought to the notice of the doctors.
In turn, doctors informed the III Town cops. The police inspected the CCTV footage in and around hospital and enquired about the person’s identity with on duty doctors. But, the cops could not identify the identity of the imposter. A case was registered.
