Vijayawada: An alert RTC bus driver prevented fire accident in Garuda bus travelling between Vijayawada and Hyderabad on Thursday. According to sources, the driver of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus noticed smoke in the bus while it was passing on the highway near Jupudi village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal on Thursday morning.
He immediately asked the 22 passengers to alight from the bus and informed to the police and fire department personnel in Kondapalli. Due to short circuit, the smoke was emanating from bus. Before the fire spread to other parts of bus, the fire tenders reached Jupudi village and extinguished the fire. The RTC had sent the passengers in other bus to Hyderabad.
