Cops deny permission for electricity employees rally

Vijayawada: The city police commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that permission to take out a rally by the Electricity contract employees on March 5 has been cancelled.

In a release on Monday, the commissioner said that to maintain law and order and to avoid any untoward incident, the permission to take out rally was cancelled.

In the wake of MLC elections and the upcoming general elections 2019, Section 144 under 30 Police Act was imposed in the city. Stern action will be taken on persons who violate the rules, he said.
