Hyderabad: Nearly a fortnight after the national launch of Tata GenX Nano, the homegrown automaker Tata Motors announced its first customer deliveries for the new generation small car in the city. Satyanarayana, DCP, South Zone, Hyderabad, handed over the first lot of GenX Nano units at Tejaswi Motors, an authorized dealer for the automaker.
Delivering on its promise of being the smart city car, the GenX Nano is also equipped with automated manual transmission (AMT). Called Tata Nano EasyShift, the AMT version offers its customers the ease of maneuverability in heavy traffic and during parking. It also comes with an in-built creep feature, which helps the car to crawl as soon as the pressure is eased off the brake pedal, without pressing the accelerator.
The car also provides its customers with a ‘Shift Assist’ manual mode for convenience of changing gear as per the driver's requirement, with the vehicle automatically suggesting the optimum gear shift points on the instrument cluster and an option of ‘Sports’ mode for performance oriented drivers.
For the first time, the small car also has boot. Other features include BluetoothTM, CD, Radio, USB and Aux-in connectivity. The new generation Nano comes with enhanced safety features like crumple zone, intrusion beams, anti-roll bar and SUV-like ground clearance.
