The possible flagship Avenger would target the likes of UM Renegade cruisers.Autocar India reports that, according to its sources, the Bajaj Avenger 400 variant is being worked upon alongside the upcoming Pulsar 400 (most like the CS 400). The idea of a bigger engined Avenger probably gathered momentum after seeing the tremendous response for the refreshed cruiser family.

The engine is expected to displace around 375 cc but specific details are not available yet. We can expect the motor to adopt liquid-cooling and fuel-injection system. Likely to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, the motor would be focusing on delivering an effortless cruising experience rather than offering outright power.

As far as styling is concerned, we expect the Bajaj Avenger 400 to be very close to its smaller siblings which are appreciated for their aesthetics. Bajaj has an option of offering both Street and Cruise variants of the Avenger 400.

If Bajaj comes up with Avenger 400, it would be pitted against the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350, Hyosung Aquila 250 (300 cc successor in on its way) and the UM Renegade range of cruisers. Other compact displacement premium motorcycles in the same price bracket would also be targeted.

A Bajaj official recently went on record to say that the company’s next two wheeler launch would be a 400 cc model but it remains to be seen whether it will be the Avenger 400 or Pulsar 400 CS.
