A set of spyshots of a heavily taped up prototype have emerged online.

Though the test mule features intentionally ugly looking disguise, the basic shape can be deduced and we are happy to note that the energetic character of the concept has been retained without being watered down much. The V-Motion grille with multi-layered elements and narrow peeled back headlamps set the tone upfront.

We expect the profile to feature well pronounced contours and surfaces in addition to C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. The boomerang shaped LED taillights, compact windshield and cantilevered roof (blacked out C-pillars) are also likely to be carried forward.

Unlike the current gen model which is based on Nissan’s V Platform, the new gen model adopts Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF (Common Module Family) architecture. As of now, the old continent sources its Nissan Micra from India but the new model would roll out of Renault’s Flins plant in France.

It’s reported that the 2017 Nissan Micra for India would be soldering on with the old V Platform. It could also feature a significantly different styling. The new model is expected to make its global premiere sometime later this year, probably at the Paris Motor Show in October.
