Volkswagen T-Prime hybrid SUV gets unwrapped

The concept SUV that Volkswagen has teased last week has been unveiled as the T-Prime GTE at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. This vehicle, in production form, will be their new flagship vehicle and will sit above the soon-to-be-launched CrossBlue.

This new SUV is underpinned by the MLB platform. In the concept form it is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and a hybrid motor that have a combined output of 375bhp and 699Nm of torque.

This engine has been mated to an eight-speed AT and VWs 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology. This power enables it to have a 0-100kmph time of six seconds and a top speed of 223kmph.
