As the most affordable motorcycle with a 600cc, inline four cylinder engine producing 85 PS of power at 11,500 rpm and a peak torque of 54.6 Nm at 10,500 rpm, the early upgrade to ABS is a welcome move that can boost sales of this already popular motorcycle among superbike enthusiasts.

Good news for the DSK Benelli Superbike enthusiasts, as the Benelli launches TNT 600i model with ABS. With the new upgrade, the motorcycle will be priced at Rs. 5.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane), registering an increase of Rs. 40000, while the on-road price will be Rs. 6.53 lakh.

Beginning from the Benelli TNT 600i, all Benelli motorcycles will have standard ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) in compliance with the Government of India mandate for all 125cc+ to have ABS by April 2017. Existing models will get a grace period of one year to upgrade with ABS.

Though the ABS turns mandatory for all 125cc+ motorcyles, it is also an attractive feature for the DSK Benelli TNT 600i to boast of. Brought as Completely-Knocked-Down Units (CKU) to India, the assembling of the motorcycle at the DSK’s manufacturing facility at Wai, near Pune, cuts down on the CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) import duty to enable sale at an affordable price.

The ABS upgraded Benelli 600i can be availed from dealers from late this week, while non-ABS versions will be sold till the stocks are exhausted.
