GMR gets coveted award
GMR Group Chairman GM Rao has received ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award during the sixth edition of the Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) held in Dubai recently.
Hyderabad: GMR Group Chairman GM Rao has received ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award during the sixth edition of the Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) held in Dubai recently. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, UAE, presented the award to Rao at the event.
He was chosen for the lifetime achievement award for influencing and mentoring a generation of business leaders “God has given me the opportunity to serve the nation. It is the God’s grace, our honesty and dedication that helped us create landmark assets including the gateway of India, Delhi Airport which is world’s number one airport in its category,” said Rao, while receiving the honour at the ABLE event.
A serial entrepreneur, Rao started his entrepreneurial journey with a small jute mill in the remote village in Andhra Pradesh and went on to create a mammoth infrastructure conglomerate in GMR Group. The Group developed India’s first Greenfield airport under PPP model at Hyderabad and also the country’s largest brown-field international airport at New Delhi.
