Global majors to take part in aviation show

Union Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey reviewing arrangements for Indian Aviation 2016 show in Hyderabad on Wednesday

Hyderabad: President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate ‘India Aviation 2016’, the fifth international exhibition and conference on civil aviation, which is scheduled to begin at Begumpet airport premises on March 16. The President will also witness aerobatic display as part of the five-day event which will conclude on March 20.

Union Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey on Wednesday held a high level meeting with the Telangana Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and other officials and reviewed the arrangements being made for the premier aviation show. Earlier, the Civil Aviation Secretary along with the Industries Secretary Arvind Kumar visited Begumpet airport and enquired about the arrangements being made for the event.

Over 200 companies and other major participants from 25 countries are expected to take part in the show. Leading aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Textron, Embraer, Gulfstream and Dassault will make their presence. So are also helicopter manufacturers such as Agusta Westland, Bell Helicopters, Russian Helicopters and Airbus Helicopters.

Engine manufacturers like CFM, UTC, GE aviation and Rolls Royce and major airline companies like Qatar, Emirates and Etihad, will also take part. While the USA and Canada are the partner countries for the mega event, delegations from countries like France, Jamaica, Mauritius, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, South Korea, Greece, Singapore, etc., will also be there. The first three days of the show will be business days. The show will be opened to the public on March 19, 20.
