Hyderabad: NowFloats, a Hyderabad-based technology startup, on Wednesday said that it was now powering businesses in over 1,000 cities across more than 50 countries. Co-founded in May 2012 by Jasminder Singh Gulati, Neeraj Sabharwal, Nitin Jain and Ronak Kumar Samantray, NowFloats helps businesses create an online presence instantly using the NowFloats Boost App, and makes it discoverable in local searches using frictionless machine learning technology and big data.
“Across the world, businesses today realise that while building an online presence may be easy, yet it can be very tedious to keep it relevant to business and even more cumbersome to get customers to visit often. Consequently, platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and apps emerged as the new frontiers of business yet discoverability still remained a major challenge. NowFloats addresses this by automatically helping business owners promote their content to the right audiences, NowFloats Co-Founder and CEO Jasminder Singh Gulati said in a release.
“With India having more Internet users than the entire population of the US and a mere 0.7 million of the 52 million small and medium businesses owning a website, NowFloats decided to initially test its product on the home turf before going global, he added. Currently, NowFloats connects over 250,000 businesses online from across the country and powers one-third of all small and medium business (SMB) websites in India. Also, over five percent of all the local searches land on its platform.
“Many of our customers are now renewing with us for three to five years in one go. But more than all of this, what swept us off our feet was the fact that almost a 1,000 businesses outside of India have discovered NowFloats on their own to sell locally in their country,” Gulati said.
