He suggested that once the pilgrims felt happy with their pilgrimage tour amidst the Samaikyandhra agitations, certainly they will keep the cooperation and good sense of Tirupati people forever in their life
Tirupati: Tirupati Urban Superintendent of Police SV Rajasekhar appealed to the local people and Samaikyandhra agitators to maintain restraint while staging protests. He also appealed to the agitators to spare the roads leading to Tirumala from Railway Station and Bus Station from any agitations and also maintain the roads connecting Renigunta Airport as ‘agitation free zone’.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he explained that thousands of pilgrims with many constraints from every corner of the country are arriving at Tirupati and Tirumala every day, and the cooperation of local people is very much needed to return home with satisfaction and good feelings. He stressed that the image of Tirupati and Tirumala would be destroyed if the local people stop the transportation of the devotees, who throng the temple to have a darshan of the Lord.
While pointing out the recent attack on Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, the Urban SP said that once the image of Tirupati was tarnished it would remain forever in the minds of devotees across the country and it will remain as a black spot for several generations.
He suggested that once the pilgrims felt happy with their pilgrimage tour amidst the Samaikyandhra agitations, certainly they will keep the cooperation and good sense of Tirupati people forever in their life.
It may be noted that several routes connecting Tirumala and Alipiri were targeted by Samaikyandhra agitators and pilgrims suffered a lot with transportation, traffic jams and diversion of routes and on a few days, the pilgrims were forced to reach Alipiri by foot as the Road Transport Buses (RTC), private sub-urban services, autorickshaws and private jeeps were on strike.
By taking all these bitter experiences, the Urban SP took initiative to exempt few locations from any agitations for the convenience of pilgrims.
