Chennai: From holidaying in Italy to a reunion with their beloved in the US, southern stars have set their itinerary for the New Year and they are all set to ring it in with family and friends. For some, however, it will be work over play.



Amala Paul: Having wrapped up upcoming Tamil thriller "Nimirnthu Nil", actress Amala Paul is currently on a holiday in Italy with her family. "In the city of Love, Paris, with family," she posted on her Twitter page on the eve of Christmas. Amala will also celebrate the New Year in Paris and has plans to visit the Vatican.

Ajith Kumar: Superstar Ajith Kumar, who recently completed work on upcoming Tamil release "Veeram", has taken off to Australia. "Soon after Christmas, he left to Australia with his family. He will celebrate the New Year there and will return to Chennai on Jan 9 for the release of his film," Ajith's manager told IANS. "Veeram" is slated to release Jan 10, 2014.

Dhanya Balakrishnan: Dhanya, who is basking in the success of Telugu release "Second Hand", plans to spend the start of the year with her family in Bangalore. "I will be with my family and we will celebrate the New Year at home. I'll visit a temple on the morning of Jan 1 and I look forward to some homemade gourmet by my mom," she said.

Esther Noronha: Esther will head back home to Mangalore for some family time. "I recently completed shooting for my Telugu. It was a long shoot and I needed a break. I think this would be the right time to take it, and therefore, I'm going home to my family," she told IANS.

Hansika Motwani: The 22-year old actress, who is currently holidaying in New York, will celebrate the New Year with her friends there. "New York is a dichotomy of a city. All the hustle, bustle and yet an underlying layer of loneliness," she posted Friday on her Twitter page. Hansika's mother told IANS: "Every year during this time, she goes on a vacation with her close friends. This year too she has gone with her gang of girls".

Karthi Sivakumar:
Karthi will fly to Canada to support his friend southern composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who will perform there on the eve of New Year. "I would cheer for Yuvan at his concert in Canada this New Year. I'm sure I'll have great fun watching him perform," Karthi had said at a recent event here.

Lakshmi Manchu: Actress-producer Lakshmi recently left for the US to spend time with her husband. "She left for Los Angeles a few days back to meet her husband Andy to welcome the New Year. She will stay there for a week," said Lakshmi's manager.

Nani: Having unveiled the audio of his upcoming Telugu release Janda Pai Kapiraju, actor Nani will also head to the US to meet his sister. "I haven't taken a break in a long time. Therefore, I have planned to take one and visit my sister in the US with my wife," he told IANS. He is also awaiting the release of southern remake of "Band Baaja Baaraat", titled "Ha Ha Kalyanam".

Priyamani: The "Chennai Express" actress, who recently left for Bangkok, plans to celebrate her New Year in Koh Samui, an island off the eastern coast. "I'll be spending a few days in Bangkok before leaving for Koh Samui. I'll visit the Tiger Park there and I hope to have lots of fun," she told IANS before leaving the country.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu: Southern actress Samantha along with Suriya Sivakumar will be busy shooting for yet-untitled Tamil actioner during New Year. "We started the film by November end and are currently working on a tight schedule. Therefore, all of us have decided to not take time off for New Year celebrations. We will probably celebrate on sets with a cake," the film's director Linguswamy told IANS.

Sunil Varma:
Sunil has plans to visit his hometown to spend time with his family. "I might go to Bheemavaram to meet my family. Since I'm done with the shooting of my new film, I think this is the right time to go back home. If I go, then I'll make it a point to meet all my friends and spend the New Year with them," he told IANS.
