Sonu’s Audi car on fire, none hurt

Actor Sonu Sood's luxury car, an Audi Q7, caught fire on Monday evening near the Kalanagar junction. No injuries have been reported.
A major mishap was averted after actor Sonu Sood's high-end luxury car caught fire on the Western Express highway in Bandra on Sunday evening. His friend, Ajay Dhama, who noticed smoke billowing from the bonnet, immediately stopped the vehicle and managed to get out just before the front of the car got engulfed in flames.
"I brought a 20-litre bottle of drinking water from a nearby shop and tried to douse the fire but that didn't really help," said Dhama who had just a few seconds to stop the car and escape the flames. Sonu, who was tailing him in another car, soon joined him.

For some time, he and Dhama stood beside the car, completely helpless, before Sonu called the fire brigade which sent a team that soon brought things under control. "The police too reached the spot by that time," said Dhama, who is Sonu's best friend. In no time, seeing so much action on the road, a huge crowd had gathered too.
Sonu said he could not believe his eyes that his Audi Q7, which he had bought just a year back, had caught fire. "I just can't believe what has happened. These are high-end cars. It's so scary and I am very fortunate that Dhama was able to open the door at the right time." A towing car came after 45 minutes and took Sonu's car away to the police station for the necessary formalities.
Sonu said he is planning to meet officials from Audi to seek an explanation about the incident. "From what I know such things are not seen happening in a high end vehicle," he said.
Audi India officials could not be contacted for their comment.
