‘Legend’ team on cloud nine

Touring the State and sharing the success of the film with audience for the past ten days, the principal cast and crew of ‘Legend’ participated in the success meet of the film in Hyderabad on Thursday evening. Speaking at the occasion, Superstar Balakrishna said that both Boyapati and he share similar emotions, hence the chemistry has paid off. “The film has caught the fancy of fans ever since it was named as ‘Legend’. However, for everyone there is only one Legend and that is NTR. He was not just my father but my guru and God,” he said.

Heaping praise on films composer Devi Sri Prasad, director Boyapati Sreenu said, “He has worked for 14 days for the background score. I was with him during this period and made him to complete the work. Generally, he doesn't turn up to the final mixing work, but I ensured that he drops by Prasad Labs, Hyderabad and does the final mixing for 52 hours on the trot.”

While Boyapati was continuing, Devi grabbed the mike from him and said: "Boyapati was not with me throughout the recording; rather he spent three days in my studio. During the same time, he spent considerable time tuning to English movies in his laptop. Nobody can give me instructions to have food or not to sleep because at the end of the day, I don’t sleep much in the first place. I’m not putting this across in a negative sense; I don’t mind working without sleep and food and I’ve been like this for the past many years. Movies are my life and music is my passion. I don't party at all; I only compose music. There were instances in the past where some directors said that they have squeezed out the music from me; music is not milk to be squeezed, nor we are cows.”

He added, “I’ve not reached a point where people can remind me of my work. Nobody should tutor how I should devote myself for films because I’m where I’m because of my toil.” Boyapati later said that he was exactly trying to say what Devi Sri Prasad said. Actor Jagapathi Babu who played an antagonist in the film said the film still appears to be a dream for him. “I won’t leave the industry even if it wants me to desert it. I will stay here and will be in the hearts of Telugu people. It’s been three years since I’ve slept peacefully but with the success of ‘Legend’, I’m able to go to bed at peace,” he said.
