In a glittering ceremony held at Ravindra Bharathi, noted singer Vani Jairam was felicitated by the Yuvakalavahini, a cultural organisation. She was presented with the ‘Pride of Indian Cinema’ award. Veteran producer K Raghava presented the award to the versatile singer, who has been entertaining the audience with her mellifluous voice.
It was a gala event and was attended by noted personalities like legendary singer Rao Balasaraswathi, renowned danseuse Shobha Naidu and others. Noted singer Sashikala Swamy and young singers from Ramachari’s Little Musicians Academy paid a melodious tribute to Vani Jairam.
Later, Vani Jairam handed over mementoes to Tollywood young brigade singers like Hemachandra, Karunya, Shravana Bhargavi and others. Other musicians like Vijaya Lakshmi, Ramachari were also felicitated.
