The Hans India: Objectionable scenes in Singham Returns deletedThe Hans India has done it again. This time the publication of a report in our columns has impacted Bollywood. In response to our article on the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Singham Returns’ that was published on August 4 and covered objections raised by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other pro-Hindu organisations,, the film’s director Rohit Shetty has agreed to remove objectionable scenes that were deemed to be hurting the religious sentiments.

The director declared at a press conference in Mumbai that the scenes that had caused a stir among various Hindu organisations had been deleted. In a letter to The Hans India, Mohan Gowda, representing Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, said, “The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other pro Hindu organisations held a protest against ‘Singham Returns’ movie. You had published front page news in The Hans India. After you highlighted the issue, Rohit Shetty, the director of Singham Returns, has been forced to remove the objectionable scenes hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. We acknowledge and appreciate the publicity given to the protest and by this medium, for the cause of the nation and dharma.”

In a letter addressed to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, co-producer Kumar Mangat Pathak from Ajay Devgn Films said, “All shots which were mutually discussed would be deleted. We respect your sentiments and assure you that nothing would be done to disrespect it. We therefore request you to do the needful by issuing a NOC to us and to the Censor Board at the earliest.”
