It was those days when an unemployed youth would spend most his time visiting government offices, civil court sessions. He would observe people's behaviour and mimic the same in front of a chosen audience. We are talking about Laxman Shivashankar who is now an IT consultant.

His heart is in IT where he utilises his software skills to its full potential. His DNA carries artist molecules as his father CV Shivashankar is a renowned actor, director, lyricist and a producer in the Kannada film industry for five decades now.

Right from his school days, Laxman would actively participate in dramas and other cultural activities. He worked in animation and video post-production industry for quite some time. He can proudly say that he was one among the few 3D animators in Bangalore in those times.He would always like to be behind the cameras. He has directed several short films and acted in television serials and feature films. The versatile artiste has even penned a song for a Kannada movie.

When he went abroad on work, his creative side was awakened as he got in touch with several Kannada cultural organisations across USA and Australia. His stage performances delighted the Kannada NRI community. Very recently, he became an integral part of a movie 'A Day in the City' where he plays the lead role of an IAS officer who turns messiah in times of crisis. Directed by his own brother Venkat, Laxman felt comfortable in shouldering the responsibility of leading the team. The best way to acknowledge his talent would be to watch his performance on the screen. A Day in the City would hit theatres anytime soon.
