Hong Kong’s thriving Indian community has long contributed to the city’s international reputation as a multicultural metropolis. Thanks to the worldwide popularity of Bollywood films and rise in cross-cultural encounters, the Hong Kong public has increasingly embraced Bollywood culture in recent years – with Bollywood influences readily discernible in dance to music to theatrical productions.

Heartthrob Hrithik Roshan is the youngest male actor from India to be honoured by Madame Tussauds. Having starred in a series of award-winning films, Roshan was crowned Best Actor multiple times. In homage to one of his most famous roles in Dhoom 2, Roshan’s wax figure is styled in a short-sleeved shirt. The highly in-demand actor recently confirmed his participation in a Hollywood project.

Admired as “the most beautiful woman in the world”, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has starred in over 40 Bollywood films and won numerous awards, including Filmfare Awards, International Indian Film Academy Awards and Star Screen Awards, just to name a few. Dressed in a replica Ellie Saab gown worn by her at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010, the wax figure brings to life Bachchan’s signature elegance and glamour. Bachchan is currently busy with production of the film Jazbaa, set to hit theatres later this year.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the very first Bollywood actor to be represented in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s permanent collection. Bachchan’s illustrious career spans more than 40 years, making him one of the most prominent figures in the history of Indian cinema. His wax figure is dressed in an Indian-style black suit and white trousers, as seen in the opening of Salon du Cinema at Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris in 2009.

Kareena Kapoor, one of the most sought-after Bollywood actresses, has starred in a wide range of film genres and won six Filmfare Awards as well as numerous prestigious accolades. Thanks to her distinctive fashion style, she has gained wide recognition as a fashion icon. Her wax figure is dressed in an intricately embroidered sari, designed by Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra.

Often referred to as “The King of Bollywood”, Shah Rukh Khan is an acclaimed Indian actor with over 70 Hindi films to his name. He shares with Dilip Kumar the honour of having received the most Best Actor awards. Also known as SRK, the actor is currently busy with production of his next film, Raees.
