No sooner did ”Gulabo” saw the dawn, people went berserk over the song and it received innumerable hits in no time. On Gulaabo: Sanah reveals, “I loved that song when I heard it for the first time I felt the lyrics are fabulous. I had by hearted the whole song. Shouting and singing I think it’s a very peppy and a nice song.”
Having inherited the genes from both mom and dad she adds, “In born quality, I guess, surely genes has something to do with in children. But I have learnt acting. I have done a course. I do not know if acting is an inborn quality in me. Hopefully, I feel acting ka keeda hai mujhe main!!” she smiles.
Sanah elaborates on her training, “I studied theater in New York I have been training in theatres but professionally I have never done plays. Undeniably, I performed plays in School and college. I did watch my mom’s plays in Prithvi Theatres while I was a kid.”
On being a natural actor, Sanah adds, “I love the camera. Being in front of the camera- the actor in me-comes out instantly. I bored Vikas asking so many questions about the character. I am passionate about my craft.”
On Destination wedding, she adds, “Destination wedding, I would always approve of. Simply because you get a lot of time to spend with the family of both groom and the bridegroom. This gives one ample of opportunity to be able to know each other. Weddings in your own city deprive you of the opportunity being together. In Destination wedding you are with each other 24x7 which is really fun filled.”
Would she prefer a destination wedding? “Yes! Of’coz I would love to hold my destination wedding in Italy. I like the blue waters, the white architectural stuff in Greek. Above all I like the Greek Mythology. Greece is a beautiful place for organizing a wedding.”
History and Mythology: “I have read Panchatantra books also my mom would make me read Mahabharata and Ramayana. Reading mythological stories enamored me to quiet an extent. Reading these stories my knowledge about people during that period too enriched. History for me was my favorite subject. May be others-History …Geography raat ko raati aur din ko safa…[Leant in the night and forgot by the day .] this was not the case with me. I still remember all those tales of Indian History as well as English History.
Adding more about her History knowledge, she adds, “I have read Akbar and Ashoka as well Aurangzeb as to how they dealt with their monarchy. While Akbar followed a lenient religious policy, Ashoka was a staunch ruler for reasons better known to him, his childhood experiences made him a strong ruler that he was.”
Talking about her favourite monumnet, Sanah reveals, “Tajmahal is undoubtedly the wonders of the World. But for me the Fateh pur Sikri Darghas are wonderful existence of that period. Rajasthan forts too are significant in the Indian History which are my favorite.”
About her love for the films in the 60’s, she adds, “All the golden era songs as well the films of the sixties, I love to watch over and over again. If bestowed upon a chance to be able to reprise my mother’s films –it would be, Baazar and Kal-Yug, these are beautiful films of my mom.[Supriya Phatak]”
About her grandma: “I being the only daughter in the family was the most loved one. Especially my grandma who passed away while I was very small was my strength. She was like my advisor. She has made me strong as a person. I was very close to her. She would always tell me do whatever you want to do –whole heartedly, work hard and be successful. I wish she was there to watch my film now. She did spoil me at times though.”
About Shahid: “He told me to be myself while I perform in front of the cameras. I remember dad and Shahid’s eyes were filled with tears when they saw me dressed like a bride. I then told them don’t worry I’m not getting married chill guys it’s just a film.”
Distressing moments: “I love dancing therefore I love clubbing, partying and dancing so I chill out doing all this in stress. I also watch movies to distress myself.”
About her bhabhi Mira, she says, “My bhabhi is an amazing person. She is loved by all of us because of her simplicity. She is an amazing person. We met each other much before the marriage and since then we are good pals. I share a lot with her. She is a sweet heart and fits well in our family. She is very much like me loves to have fun and frolic moments which we together enjoy many a times. We are like a house on fire while together. Mira is anxiously waiting to watch Shaandar.”
