Nayan is not paired opposite Venky

Actress Nayantara, who has sizzled in glamorous roles over the years, has chosen to go de-glam for her next Telugu outing with superstar Venkatesh, ‘Babu Bangaram’ (tentative title).

The actress will be seen as a simple middle-class Brahmin girl in the film. Interestingly, though she’s the leading lady, she is not paired opposite Venky.

Nayan’s look and styling will be simple and she will be sporting only sarees throughout. She will be shooting for the entire film with minimal makeup barring a few scenes (where would she use concealer and lip balm).

A source close to the unit reveals, “With cinema turning realistic, director Maruthi was very particular about sticking to a natural look. Nayan was briefed about her simple and tradition look during the narration itself. Since she was not keen on being typecast, she was convinced with her role, before giving her nod.”

Makeup and hair isn’t all! Even her lingo (which will be dubbed) will also be unusual, meeting the character demands. A coming-of-age film which revolves around Venkatesh’s antics as a funny cop, ‘Babu Bangaram’, a production of S Naga Vamsi, is expected to hit the screens this summer.
