And now, Anjali sings

Looks like singing has become the latest fad in the tinsel town. After NTR, Kajal and Allu Arjun, it’s now Anjali’s turn to lend vocals for a number. The actress has recently recorded for her first ever number in her forthcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual ‘Chitrangada’.

Apparently the actress has sung both the versions (Telugu and Tamil) of the mass number composed by musicians duo Selvaganesh and Swaminathan.

Explaining the thought behind the initiative, the film’s director Ashok says, “It was my idea. Anjali keeps humming on the sets and I found her voice to be peculiar. I felt her vocals would add a different dimension to the mass tune, before pitching the idea to her.

I was surprised to see her sing both the versions effortlessly. “Since the song was also filmed on her, you’ll get to see Anjali grooving to it as well. It will come as a surprise package for the audience.”

Anjali too is ecstatic about her singing debut. “I never thought I would sing. After seeing the final mix (of the tune), I was thrilled with the way the song has come out. I’m also fluent in Tamil and as such I did not have any difficulty in singing the Tamil lines,” she chuckles.
