Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday dispelled rumours surrounding the marginalisation of NTR Gardens near Hussainsagar.

Speaking at the function to launch of Gautamiputra Satakarni, the 100th movie of actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, the Chief Minister said, “NTR is the pride of Telugu people and was instrumental in giving us the Telugu identity across the world.”

Sounding the clapboard for the first shot on Balakrishna’s film, KCR said. “I’m a fan of NTR”. He said that there has been some negative propaganda about NTR Gardens after the foundation stone for the 125 feet statue of Dr B R Ambedkar was laid near NTR Ghat.

“I reiterate NTR Gardens would remain as it is forever. NTR is not a one generation actor. He is known to all in both the Telugu states,” he said.

Appreciating the Nandamuri scion for picking a subject like Gautamiputra for his landmark 100th film, he said, “I can guarantee you that the film will run for 200 days.

Every Telugu person should know and learn about Gautamiputra. I appeal to Balakrishna to include my family’s name in the invite list to watch the preview of the film.”
