Hyderabad: It seems that T-town viewers are encouraging top directors these days. Close on the heels of ace director Rajamaouli, who became a brand in his own right, another Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas has become crowd-puller of sorts since his latest offering "A Aa" featuring Nitin and Samanta.
- Close on the heels of magic spun by Rajamouli, Trivikram Srinivas’ ‘A Aa’ is pulling crowds in droves
- The film has already grossed 18 crore and is on a way to become a blockbuster
It has grossed more than Rs 18 crore till date and expected to be blockbuster in TS, AP, besides rocking overseas market. "Most of the distributors could have recovered their investment in the first week itself since Trivikram Srinivas has spun box office magic once again and proved himself to be a brand," says distributor Vishnumurthy of Nizam region, who feelt that his heart-wrenching storyline and one-liners had grabbed audience attention. "He is exceptional wordsmith" he added.
Drawing comparison between two leading directors, Rajamouli and Trivikram, distributor Ramakrishna, head of Chittoor distributors’ guild, explained "Although, both have impeccable success record but they are different as chalk and cheese. While Rajamouli relies on larger-than-life characters and banks on splendid visuals, while Trivikram bets on strong storylines and catchy one-liners which have a high recall value.
He is a writer-turned-director, so his strength lies in good plots and his light-hearted narration connects him to larger section of viewers. No doubt, Trivikram is the new age Jandhyala, a yesteryear director who mesmerised viewers with his comic and soul-stirring dialogues" he added.
Another hallmark of Trivikram is that he gives stronger characters to heroines who have mind of their own and dishes out decent family entertainers. "Some directors exploit heroines for glam quotient, but Trivikram stands out by giving them equally important roles.
As a writer for Aarti (Nuvvu Naku Nachavu), Kartina Kaif (Malleswari) and as director for Trisha (Athadu), Ileana (Julayi) and Samantha in A Aa who are noticed for their acting skills.
Another hallmark of his winning streak is that he has gained respect from family audience by dishing out neat and clean entertainers. Later on, when his films are telecast on TV, they draw repeat audience, surely a director par excellence" concluded distributor Venkateswarlu of Krishna district.
