Released last year, Malayalam film ‘100 Days Of Love’ was Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen’s third outing together as a pair. And like their earlier films, ‘Ustad Hotel’ and ‘Ok Bangaram’, ‘100 Days of Love’, had been a big draw at the Malayalam box-office. The stars were in Hyderabad on Wednesday to promote the Telugu dubbed version of the romantic drama with the same name. Nithya’s manager Venkatarathnam is releasing it, with assistance from Abhishek Pictures.

Dulquer said when he dropped by the city to promote ‘Ok Bangaram’ last year, he was received warmly by Telugu people. “I didn’t felt like I was coming from another industry,” he noted. “In fact, Telugu people have been appreciative of my work. Many people wrote to me on social media in praise of some of my films.”

In the film, the actor plays journalist Rao Gopal Rao, who is considered a loser in his family. Rao falls in love with Savitri (Nithya), who doesn’t believe in love marriage, when they both get into a taxi at the same time. The actor said he green-lit the movie because he felt he hasn’t done an out-and-out love story. “Prior to ‘100 Days Of Love’, I was mostly seen in coming-of-age films where love track took a backseat. ‘100 Days Of Love’ is a first-of-its-kind complete romantic drama to me,” he pointed out.

Dulquer further said that he keeps getting messages to do more love stories with Nithya. “But I’m very particular about doing interesting love stories than just another love story. To that extent I’m happy that the three films that I’ve done with Nithya are different from each other,” he exulted.

Describing the film as a light-hearted quirky comedy, Nithya observed, “It has been shot in Hollywood style and with old Hollywood music (playing in the background).” She also said that has crooned for a number, “Hrudayam Kannulatho.” “I was adamant on singing it with Vijay Prakash, my favourite singer. He was kind enough to oblige our request.”

When asked whether it was she who pushed her manager Venkatarathnam to dub the film into Telugu, Nithya asserted, “I don’t push anyone to do anything to me. Venkat liked the original and thought it would be good to dub it since it brought back Dulquer and me together again. When he conveyed the same to me, I told him, ‘It’s a good idea, let’s do it.’”
