In the making for the past nine months, the trailer of Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘Mister’ was unveiled in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. The cast and crew of the film–Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi, Hebah Patel, Sreenu Vaitla, Nallamalupu Bujju and Gopi Mohan—were in attendance at the do where they spoke about what went into the making of the film and their experiences of working on it.

Describing the film as a triangular love story, Vaitla said the film has all the elements to attract audiences of every ilk. “The film’s conclusion will be new to the audience. Also, the three principal characters have been etched very strongly with each character having a back-story,” Vaitla said.
Stressing that it’d not be a signature Vaitla film, where his protagonist makes bakra out of an eminent supporting character, Vaitla, whose last film, ‘Bruce Lee,’ flopped miserably at the BO, added that he had presented Varun in a different way.

“Unlike his past films where he catered himself to a section of audience, he’d be liked by everyone in ‘Mister’,” Vaitla promised and added they haven’t shot a single shot in Hyderabad, a factor which made him to receive compliments on the film’s fresh look. “We’ve shot in around 12 cities across Spain besides shooting in Chikmagalur, Ooty and Kerala. The need of the hour was a fresh look and it was possible only by shooting in these locales.”

Varun credited Vaitla for the response that his look received. “More than the designer and the stylist, he invested more time on how should I look,” asserted Varun, who has tried his hands at comedy for the first time. “Vaitla explored the comedy angle in me and we both felt it has come out well.”

Varun also said that this is the first time that he could relate to his character to a “certain extent”. “And so, it was easy to enact it… but only to a certain extent,” he smiled. Lavanya Tripathi on her part said that she has played a part, which is very close to her heart. “I haven’t played such a role till now,” she exulted.
