Balakrishna told him that since he has spent lavishly on the film, he would like to take a pay cut and leave some margin of profit for producer Krish.
this industry, where star sons demand full pay cheque even from their parentes and uncles, seasoned star Balakrishna seems to be an exception of sorts. Just recently, the scion of Nandamuri family left director-producer Krish surprised, when he declined to take full remuneration for his role in ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ despite the film being a money-spinner.
“Usually, Balakrishna doesn’t take remuneration until the completion of the film and just works on an advance amount,” says a source, close to the family. When Krish went to give him a cheque for balance amount of Rs 5 crore, out of Rs 10 crore mutually-agreed remuneration, for historical epic drama, the actor refused to take it.
Balakrishna told him that since he has spent lavishly on the film, he would like to take a pay cut and leave some margin of profit for producer Krish. “It rarely happens it T-town, since some stars demand more money if a film is a big hit, but Balayya proved otherwise and kept welfare of the producer in mind and took a huge pay cut.
In fact, Balakrishna has taken some advance amount from producer C Kalyan for his 102nd film, but hasn’t taken any money from the producer of ‘Paaisa Vasool’ yet,’ adds the source.
