I wanted to keep my word: Boyapati Srinu
On making his upcoming film ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ with young actor Bellamkonda Srinivas after working with big stars like Balakrishna and Allu Arjun, director Boyapati Srinu says “I had promised to do a film with Bellamkonda Srinivas and kept my word. We preach lot of values in films, but personally I wanted to practise it,” He also describes `JJN’ as ‘heartwrenching love saga’ and apt Srinivas.

“Srinivas added muscle and reduced weight to fit into the angry-young man role. I know what kind of script suits a particular star and accordingly pick them,’ he adds. Elaborating further he says, “After a long time, I was making a love story and it was like revisiting my ‘Bhadra’ days, where love was core factor of the film and woven around family sentiments besides action episodes,” He dislikes being branded an action filmmaker since he likes to explore varied genres.
“I ensure strong human emotions in all my films and coming to action it should trigger from the script, rather than forcing it, to strike a chord with the masses. I have done six films and I like to raise the bar on myself with each film and offer variety to viewers,” he concludes.
