The film, 'Patnagarh 23 Feb 2018', directed by national award-winning and internationally-acclaimed director Rajesh Touchriver, is inspired by true incidents from the infamous Patnagarh Bomb Blast case. The most expensive movie ever made in Odia till now with a budget of Rs 5 crore, it is a bilingual film, shot simultaneously in both Odia and Telugu, went on the floors on July 14.

Produced by Sridhar Martha of Range Royal Cine Lab, the film is co-produced by Manoj Mishra and Padma Shree awardee Sunitha Krishnan. Going into the story, a newly married couple receives a gift box five days after their wedding. However, it turns out to be a bomb which explodes killing the mother and husband, while leaving the wife with critical injuries.

Thus, the peaceful life of a sleepy town becomes completely shattered. Police launch a massive manhunt to track down the criminals. While George Joseph of '102 Not Out' fame is scoring the music, the popular music director RP Pattnaik, an Odia native, is composing a Sambhalpuri folk song for the film. Veteran Telugu actor Tanikella Bharani plays the role of a cop.
