A hero hiking his remuneration after a blockbuster is not something new. We have seen so many heroes who raised their paychecks immediately after a hit film. But, what about a medium-range hero who scored average movies lately.
Earlier, Natural Star Nani used to take 6-8 crores as remuneration depending on the kind of film and the producer. But now, he is reportedly taking 50% of the total budget of the movie as the remuneration. So, he will get at least 10+ crores with each flick. Usually, his films are made with a budget of 15-25 crores. Even, if he takes 50% of that as his pay, it adds extra 7-13 crores to the budget. So, if his films are sold for 35-40 crores then the producer gets 5-10 crores profit even before the film releases.
However, Nani previous movie 'Krishnarjuna Yudham' and 'DevaDas' ended up as disasters at the box office. He is currently busy with his upcoming movie 'Jersey'. Touted to be a sports drama, Gowtham Tinnanuri is helming this project.
