Euromaxx, DW's weekly broadcast focusing on arts and lifestyle topics, will be getting a new look as German-Indian actress Evelyn Sharma joins the team as a host.

An avid blogger and actress Evelyn Sharma has made a name for herself in India through her public appearances and dedication to social development causes. Beginning February 16, she'll be bringing European arts, culture, lifestyle and design into homes around the world as a presenter for the Euromaxx broadcast.

"As a new host I would love to be the cultural ambassador and promote European culture for an Asian audience," Sharma said. The actress, whose father is Punjabi and mother German, grew up in Germany having access to both European and Indian cultures.

"I would like to consider myself a global citizen. I grew up in Germany and my mom made certain that I learn both European and Indian cultures and had their values deeply inculcated in me. I love to continuously learn the nuances of these cultures."

Sharma moved to Mumbai after she came of age. "I wanted to explore my Indian roots. During my stay in India I got to experience the Indian way of living very intimately which my mom had already introduced to me as a kid"

"I am thankful to my fans for giving me so much love and also Euromaxx for choosing me as a new host. I'm extremely humbled to receive so much love from both (Indian and German) audiences and that they embrace me as their own," Sharma said.

The actress made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with "From Sydney with Love." She has since appeared in numerous Bollywood productions and started her own lifestyle and wellness blog. Since 2015, she has led the Seams for Dreams charity initiative.

Euromaxx, the first program to focus exclusively on lifestyle and culture in Germany and Europe for a global audience, is broadcast on weekends on DW's TV channels in German, English, Spanish and Arabic.
