Shahid opens up on Kabir Singh

We all know how big a hit Arjun Reddy had become in the Telugu film industry. The movie has gained an immense cult following and the lead actor Vijay Devarakaonda has risen to stardom with its success. Now, it is being remade into Hindi as Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor as the lead.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who helmed the original, is also directing this remake. In a recent interview, Shahid shared some info on this film. He said, " If you see, the original Arjun Reddy was based in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Kabir Singh is based in Delhi and Mumbai. Maybe Arjun and Kabir are cousins but they are not the same person. My journey is only to find Kabir Singh."

Shahid pointed out that they didn't want to tamper anything from the original, just for the sake of it. He said that shooting the remake is like rediscovering the original all through again. "We are trying to make it as honest and as raw as it was. Of course, the way we do it, there'll be some differences," he added. Kabir Singh is slated to release on June 21.
