Youth shot dead in Muzaffarnagar

A 23-year-old man was shot dead and two others injured when unidentified persons opened fire at them, police said on Monday.

The deceased, Mukul Sharma, was returning home on a motorcycle along with two others on Sunday evening when some motorcycle borne miscreants opened fire at them near Gururam Rai School here, they said.

The two injured, Shashank and Sachin, have been admitted to a local hospital and are said to be in a serious condition, police said.

Meanwhile, irate locals protested against the incident and blocked a road here. Police said a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
