Inter-state criminal arrested

Hyderabad: The Special Crime Team of Musheerabad police arrested a 37-year-old notorious inter-state criminal on Wednesday. Police seized Rs 16 lakh worth property from his possession.

Kalya Vijaya Simha alias Vijju, a resident of Ramanthapur and a native of Bengaluru Rural, wanted in cases of robberies and offences as many as 17 under different police stations of the city, was arrested by police under the guidance of Haseebullah, Additional Inspector of Police, Musheerabad.

Police achieved an important breakthrough by arresting the most wanted criminal who has been committing series of day burglaries in different police station limits. They recovered gold ornaments weighing 48.5 tolas, 2kg silver besides two laptops all worth Rs 16 lakh from his possession. He was produced before the magistrate.

“He was convicted for six months rigorous imprisonment in Hyderabad and Vijayawada cases. From 1997 to 2006, he was involved in 31 cases of Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru City. From 2009 to 2013 he was involved in 17 cases,” said V B Kamalasan Reddy, DCP
