A 20 years young woman was fined for falling in love with a man of other caste by the village head. She failed to pay the fined amount to Panchayat. The fuming officials of Panchayat ordered for a gang rape on her. As many as 12 men raped her.
The police got alerted after the heinous incident and arrested 13 people including the village head. The victim was sent for medical examination by the local police. Coincidentally, Birbhum turns to be the home district of the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
