Chennai: The officials the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 27 kgs of gold concealed in cell phones from the cargo of a private airliner on Tuesday. The gold is valued at around Rs.10cr.
According to the Airport sources, the DRI officials made the seizure from the cargo of a private airliner, where gold was concealed inside cell phones that were packed inside many boxes.
The officials have been investigating about the senders and recipient et al, added sources. The sources mentioned that the consignment arrived from Hong Kong.
