Sahmshabad: The customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Hyderabad have detained a person coming from Dubai for illegally bringing ½ kg gold from abroad.

The man was identified as Khaja aged about 30yrs and originally hailing from Warangal. He arrived at Shamshabad airport at midnight on Tuesday.

He was frisked by the customs officials and the officials found 4 gold biscuits and a ring hidden in the socks. The gold weighed 565gms and was worth Rs. 17.56lk.

It is worth mentioning here that in the recent past there were many such cases that have come into light. Most recently, a Chennai based man arrived at Shamshabad airport coming from Singapore was arrested by the customs officials.
