Tirupati: A Maha Dharna led by the YSR Congress Party was held near Telugu Talli statue in Tirupati against the introduction of Telangana bill in the Parliament. A huge gathering was present for this programme. The crowd chanted slogans against the Congress Party and to keep the state united.
In this Dharna, a few women attempted suicide by self-immolation. Two women named Sita and Ramanamma sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
It is evident that the union government has introduced Telangana bill in the Loksabha on Thursday as item No 28 few minutes before Lagadapati used the pepper spray to disrupt the Loksabha session.
