IM men arrested for planning terror attack. Four suspected Indian Mujahideen operatives who were planning to carry out terror strikes in the country during the Lok Sabha elections were arrested from Rajasthan, Delhi Police said Sunday.

Four suspected Indian Mujahideen operatives who were planning to carry out terror strikes in the country during the Lok Sabha elections were arrested from Rajasthan, Delhi Police said Sunday.

The arrested men were identified as Waqqr Azhar, Mahroof, Mehraj and Saquib.

Police said they have received intelligence inputs that some operatives are planning terror strikes during the general elections.

With a joint operation by the Rajasthan Anti Terrorism Squad and the special cell of Delhi Police, Azhar, Mahroof and Mehraj were arrested from Jaipur, and Saquib from Jodhpur.

"Their questioning will shed more light on their precise plans. We tracked them down on the basis of inputs from Waqas Ahmed - a Pakistani-trained bomber," said a Delhi Police officer.

Waqas Ahmed has been involved in various terror activities in India since 2008. Police had identified him as a suspect after he was caught on camera the first time after Dilsukhnagar blasts in Hyderabad in 2013.

The men are being brought to Delhi on transit remand and investigations are underway.

Intelligence sources said they were probing their possible links to the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

Police claimed to have recovered explosives from their possession.
