East Godavari: 10.61L cash seized from a car

Hyderabad: On Friday, the police have carried out a snap checking going on with the EC directions/instructions. The officials on duty have found illegal possession of Rs 10.61L by a person travelling by a car. The police have seized the amount and car and also detained the person.

In another incident, the police have carried out snap check near old city in Vijayawada. During their checking, they have seized Rs 10L which was illegally possessed and hidden in a car. The amount has been seized by the police, apart from detaining the persons in attendance inside the car, at the time of the incident.

From the other end, the police on early Friday seized Rs 45L from the wife of Parathasarathy, a former minister in the state cabinet. Near Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad, the police have seized the said amount from an RTC bus which was on its way to Vijayawada from Hyderabad. The police found illegal possession of Rs 45L hidden in the bag of Kamala, the wife of K Parthasarathy. According to sources, the amount has been carried to lure the voters to franchise their votes for YSR Congress Party. The police have detained both Kamala and her co-passenger. Later, Kamala was released on her own guarantee. It is evident that Parthasarathy has been contesting in the imminent polls on YSR Congress Party ticket from Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency.
